I have had bleeding ever since my CVS a week ago. Is this normal?

CVS (chorion villus sampling) is an invasive prenatal diagnosis test commonly performed between 11-16 weeks. It involves placing a fine needle through the skin of your tummy into the placenta, using ultrasound to visualise the needle and placenta. It is common to have a small amount of vaginal bleeding for a day or two after a CVS, normally this becomes dark brown and gradually stops. If you start bleeding heavily, with clots and pain, then you should seek urgent advice from your family doctor or consultant.
